Longevity Wines – 2018 California Chardonnay
Phil Long and his wife Debra founded Longevity Wines in 2008 to celebrate their life, love and passion by making and sharing great wine. The boutique, urban-style winery is located in Livermore Valley wine country in California, less than an hour from San Francisco.
Longevity Wines is a Certified Minority-Owned Business and one of only approximately two dozen Black-owned wineries in the U.S. Phil is also the president of the Association of African American Vintners.
He personally designed the delicate, heart-shaped logo on Longevity bottles as his valentine to Debra, a constant reminder of their love and the twining vines of the grapes used to make Longevity wines. Even though Debra lost her long battle with pancreatic cancer in 2019, Phil draws his inspiration from their love story on a daily basis as he continues to build their brand.
Phil’s 2018 Longevity Chardonnay (SRP $15.99) has a beautiful nose of melon, fresh pear, pineapple and white blossom with hints of flint, yeast and toasted oak. The wine is clean and bright in the mouth, bursting with flavors of honeydew and lemon thanks to a kiss of Viognier. Balanced acidity provides a long and structured finish.
