As the ‘floor of our core,’ the pelvic floor needs just as much attention as our glutes or arms but is often ignored. Jana Danielson, Balanced Body Master Instructor and the founder of Lead Pilates and Lead Integrated Health Therapies realizes that it’s clearly an area that needs some attention: Almost one-quarter of women have pelvic floor disorders, according to a National Institutes of Health study.
Jana’s clients with pelvic floor dysfunction felt like there was nothing they could do about it or that they are the only ones going through it. To help them, she created a 5-inch accessory called the Cooch Ball (
The Cooch Ball can be used to strengthen the pelvic floor while simultaneously making classic Pilates moves more challenging: You can place it between your knees or ankles while doing the Hundred, or under your hip during the Side-Lying Series.

The ball comes deflated with its own pump.
